Our History

1992

Foundation of Euro-Druckservice AG (EDS) as future parent company for all printing plants (with the exception of newspaper coldset) of Verlagsgruppe Passau.

In the same year stake in westbohemian printing plant Typos (forms and job printing) in Pilsen in connection with privatization-process in the Czech Republic.

1993

Stake in southbohemian printing plant Jihočeské Tiskárny (label-printing) in Budweis (procedure like Typos)

1994

Foundation of northbohemian weboffset printing plant Severotisk in Ústí nad Labem (first greenfield investment of EDS).

1996

The shareholders of EDS contribute Neue Presse Druckservice, Passau (sheetfed printing) and the Austrian Landesverlag Druckservice (sheetfed printing in Linz and coldset printing in Wels) into EDS-group.

1997

Start of activities in Poland with purchase of Eurodruk-Kraków (sheetfed printing).

In the same year EDS acquires Holzmann Druck, Bad Wörishofen and Passavia , Passau (both sheetfed printing plants) in Germany.

1998

Merger between Passavia and Neue Presse Druckservice to Passavia Druckservice.

Foundation of Typos Digital Print in Pilsen as a 100% stake of Typos.

1999

Foundation of Eurodruk-Poznań (weboffset printing) as essential step for expansion of polish activities (second greenfield investment of EDS).

2001

Foundation of Eurodirect, HPS Direct Marketing and Mail Support in Kraków (Direct Marketing, Listbroker and Listowner in polish market).

2002

EDS builds Euro Digital, Passau up as a service provider for CtP and as a expertise-center for prepress-issues in EDS-group.

2003

Disposal of Direct Marketing activities in Poland (Eurodirect, HPS Direct Marketing and Mail Support).

2004

Disposal of label printing plant Jihočeské Tiskárny, Budweis.

2005

Disposal of sheetfed printing plant Landesverlag Druckservice Linz.

2006

Start of next step regarding expansion weboffset printing in CEE by purchasing Svoboda, Praha as the biggest printing plant in Czech Republic.

2007

Entrance into Hungarian market by purchasing the weboffset printing plant Zrínyi Nyomda in Budapest. In the same year the whole EDS-group is sold by Verlagsgruppe Passau to Private Equity Fonds 3i, London and to the management. Merger of Typos Digital Print and Typos to Typos

2008

Foundation of EDS Romania (weboffset printing) as further step for expansion in South Eastern Europe (third greenfield investment of EDS).

2009

Disposal of LVDS Wels in Austria

Liquidation of Euro-Digital GmbH in Passau

2013

EDS Group completes financial restructuring, appoints new chairman, group managing directors and shareholders. 3i has exited the business. The new shareholders are AltaCap (advised by Kartesia), European Capital and Darby Private Equity.
